The Bamford Arms Beefeater restaurant Stockport

Welcome to the Bamford Arms, we’re a warm and friendly steakhouse just a five-minute drive from the centre of Stockport. We serve the tastiest cuts of steak and traditional pub classics at great value prices, along with a brilliant range of drinks ideal for any occasion. We’re a great spot whether you’re after a quick lunch or you’re hosting a big event.

Our team
You can always rely on a Beefeater restaurant for the best steaks, but at the Bamford Arms we’re more than just our food – the ambience, relaxed setting and top tier service is all down to the hard work of our team. It’s our team that keeps our guests coming back time after time, and that shows from our brilliant TripAdvisor and Google reviews.

We know a lot of people come to the Bamford Arms for the company, and our team always make an effort to make sure people who want a chat have someone to talk to. We also have great relationships with local businesses, and our team are experts at hosting a range of events no matter the setting.

Our location
Our restaurant has a lot of history to it. The Bamford Arms is a listed building that dates back to the 1800s, in fact the Bamford name has been a big deal in Stockport for centuries. We’ve renovated and modernised our restaurant a little since then to turn it into the welcoming and wonderful place it is today.

Our restaurant is set across two floors with a dedicated pub space and reception area on the ground floor. Our dining areas are upstairs, with plenty of cosy corners and cubby holes to relax and eat in peace. We have stairlifts to ensure our upstairs area is accessible to everyone, though please note our stairlift can’t accommodate electric wheelchairs due to their weight.

Our reception area is great for gatherings of around 15 people, and we have private function areas upstairs ideal for groups of 30-50 – we can host bigger events too, just let us know in advance!

We also have outdoor space and tables for up to 30 people, perfect for a relaxing drink in the sun.

Make sure to take a look at our offers page for all our latest deals and promotions.

Why we love Stockport
Stockport’s always been a head above the rest – the city’s most famous for making and exporting hats across the world. We might have left our industrial roots behind us, but there’s still plenty to see in one of Greater Manchester’s busiest and most bustling cities.

The Bamford Arms is close to some of the best spots in town. Whether that’s walks across Bramhall Hall Park, the Peak Forest Canal or even to the Hat Works – which is exactly what it sounds like, a museum about Stockport’s amazing hat history.

If you’re looking to do a spot of shopping after dinner, we’re only a 10-minute drive away from the Court Shopping Centre in the heart of town. And we’ve got great connections on to Manchester itself and other bigger cities nearby. We’re also only a 20-minute drive away from Manchester Airport.

Frequently asked questions

We know we’ve already said this a lot, but our steaks are second to none! Our 8oz sirloin steak is one of our most popular dishes. Like all our steaks, it’s aged for a minimum of 30 days, grilled to perfection, packed with flavour and served with chunky triple cooked chips, crispy flat mushroom, juicy grilled tomatoes and peppercorn sauce.

We are, and we serve the best Sunday lunch at the Bamford Arms. With our Sunday roasts you can choose from our specialty roast sirloin of beef, rump of lamb, half-roast chicken or butternut squash & ale pie, served with all the trimmings and our signature red wine gravy. You also get unlimited roast potatoes and other delicious extras.

It’s got to be the Premier Inn Breakfast, which we serve at the Bamford Arms Beefeater. An unlimited selection of the best of an English breakfast. That’s bacon, eggs cooked just how you like them, hash browns, black pudding, toast and plenty more with free tea and coffee.

We’re great for family meals out. We’ve got a whole area in our restaurant that’s perfect for families, our kids’ menu always goes down well and our team are brilliant with children.

From mid-week meals to special occasions, we welcome all kinds of group bookings at the Bamford Arms Beefeater. You can book tables for up to 16 people online through our website, or call us on 0161 480 2968 to find out more about Beefeater group bookings in Stockport. If you’re booking for a group larger than 16, we can still host you – just give us a call or select ‘other’ as the number of guests you want to book for on our booking page to let us know.

Costs depend on if you’re requesting tea and coffee flasks, which private area you choose and which of our buffet options you go for. We also serve a range of drinks with tabs on request. We’re happy to discuss full prices for your event, just get in touch!

Yes, our guests get free parking! When you arrive, please enter your car registration number at reception to get three hours of free parking.

We’ve got outdoor space with room for 30 guests, including benches with parasols and great views of town. It’s a peaceful place to enjoy a drink or a light bite in the sun.

Yes, we have a platform lift on the ground floor for people who use wheelchairs or who have limited mobility. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate electric wheelchairs due to weight limitations on our lift.

There are no disabled toilets on the upper level, and we only have four tables on the upper floor that are suitable for wheelchair access due to levelling at the restaurant.
