Why we love Cirencester

Cirencester is known as the Capital of the Cotswolds. It’s an iconic, honey-coloured Cotswold town filled with history, adventure and magical walks around every corner. Starting with the outdoors, our top locations for memorable walks include Cirencester Park, Westonbirt Arboretum, Crickley Hill Country Park and Cirencester Amphitheatre. For history, a five-minute drive away is the Corinium Museum. From Roman mosaics to medieval objects, study thousands of interesting displays – each telling their own unique story from Cirencester’s past. Other local historical highlights include the 15th-century church of St John the Baptist, the Cirencester Lock-up, Bathurst Estate, and Chedworth Roman Villa. Connecting people with handmade arts and crafts, New Brewery Arts is also a five-minute drive from us, and a must for exhibitions, watching craftspeople at work and getting involved with classes.
