Why we love Leicester
Leicester is a city with a lot to be proud of, including a rich cultural heritage and history with plenty of fun things to do nearby. This amazing city is best explored after a delicious breakfast, lunch or dinner with us at the Observatory Beefeater.
We’re based in Braunstone’s Meridian Business Park, next to a bowling alley, Mossdale Meadows and a huge soft play area. As we’re only a few minutes from J21 off the M1, you could eat with us and then drive to the city centre in 20 minutes!
Leicester is famously where King Richard III’s remains were found in 2015, there’s now a visitor centre dedicated to the fascinating story of his life and death. The King Richard III centre is a brilliant day out, but there’s plenty of other things to see in the city. While you’re in Leicester make sure to visit the Jewry Wall, National Space Centre, The Curve Theatre, Leicester Cathedral and of course, the home of former Premier League winners Leicester City football club at Leicester City Stadium and the Leicester Tigers Rugby club at Welford Road Stadium.
Our steaks are always popular! Our 8oz fillet steaks are one of our tastiest cuts and, like all our steaks, they’re aged for a minimum of 30 days, grilled to perfection, packed with flavour and served with chunky triple cooked chips, crispy flat mushroom, juicy grilled tomatoes and peppercorn sauce.
People love our mixed grills too. We recommend upgrading to a juicy 4oz sirloin steak, succulent chicken breast, 5oz gammon steak and pork sausages, served with half a slow roasted tomato, grilled flat cap mushroom, fried egg, crispy beer-battered onion rings and triple-cooked chips.
You can’t beat our Sunday lunches here at the Observatory Beefeater. With our Sunday roasts you can choose from our specialty roast sirloin of beef, rump of lamb, half-roast chicken or butternut squash & ale pie, served with all the trimmings and our signature red wine gravy. You also get unlimited roast potatoes and other delicious extras.
It’s got to be the Premier Inn Breakfast, which we serve at the Observatory Beefeater. An unlimited selection of the best of an English breakfast. That’s bacon, eggs cooked just how you like them, hash browns, black pudding, toast and plenty more with free tea and coffee.
We serve breakfast from 6:30am - 10:30am every weekday and from 7am - 11am over the weekend.
We’re totally family friendly and we can make your next meal out hassle-free. Ours kids’ menu is full of dishes your children will love, our team are great with kids and we have enclosed space outdoors for kids to burn off some energy before dinner. Best of all, up to two kids can eat breakfast for free when an adult orders a Premier Inn Breakfast!
