The Boathouse Nottingham restaurant Beefeater

Hop aboard the Boathouse Beefeater at Castle Marina, Nottingham for a warm welcome and the best steaks in town. We’re famous for our grills, friendly service and fantastic atmosphere. While we’re known for being steak specialists, we also serve cracking pub classics, light bites and a frankly amazing range of drinks too. We can’t wait to see you!

Our team
At the Boathouse we’re all about making our guests feel welcome, we genuinely care about each and every person that steps through the door and we go out of our way to make every visit special. Whether it's a business lunch or a family gathering, our team are always on hand to make your meal the best it can be.

We also care about doing our bit for the community and the environment around us. We team up with the Premier Inn hotel team next door to clear litter from the canal side, the streets and bushes, and other voluntary projects.

Our location
The Boathouse was built over 40 years ago, but it’s always been a restaurant and bar people loved coming to. A lot has changed since we first opened, but we think we’re better than ever now we’re a Beefeater restaurant.

We have a spacious dining area with booths and plenty of room for family meals and a great outdoor dining area. Our restaurant has free Wi-Fi throughout the premises, a wheelchair accessible entrance and toile and baby changing facilities. We also have free parking for guests, and, like most Beefeater restaurants, you’ll find a Premier Inn hotel conveniently next door.

Make sure to take a look at our offers page for all our latest deals and promotions.

Why we love Nottingham
There’s so much to do in Nottingham and it helps that we’re in such a scenic part of the city, right next to the bobbing ships in the Castle Marina. We’re the best place for a breakfast to set yourself up for the day, lunch midway through a trip out or dinner after a fun adventure in Nottingham.

A few of our favourite sights: Nottingham Castle is a must-see in the city centre, and we’re only a five-minute drive away. This former royal residence has been a major site in Nottingham’s history and is sure to wow the kids on a day out.

If you’re in the city for a show, you’re probably heading to Motorpoint Arena – one of the largest venues for gigs and matches, and it even has a professional ice rink built into it.

Nottingham is great for doing all your shopping too, after you’ve filled up on breakfast with us, stop by the intu Victoria Shopping Centre full of high street favourites and big brands, just a 10-minute drive away from us at the at the Boathouse Beefeater.

If you’re thinking of something a little different, why not take a trip to Nottingham Caves – a maze of over 500 sandstone caves right underneath the city. The caves date all the way back to the Dark Ages and it’s a really fun day out.

Frequently asked questions

We’re a Beefeater restaurant, so the answer could only ever be our top quality steaks! But which one? Well, our head chef recommends a classic prawn cocktail to start, and then our finest 8oz fillet steak. Like all our steaks, it’s aged for a minimum of 30 days, grilled to perfection, packed with flavour and served with chunky triple cooked chips, crispy flat mushroom, juicy grilled tomatoes and peppercorn sauce. Finish it all off with a sticky toffee pudding for dessert, light sponge drenched in custard is pure heaven.

We are, and our Sunday lunches are always a treat. With our Sunday roasts you can choose from our specialty roast sirloin of beef, rump of lamb, half-roast chicken or butternut squash & ale pie, served with all the trimmings and our signature red wine gravy. You also get unlimited roast potatoes and other delicious extras.

It’s got to be the Premier Inn Breakfast, which we serve at the Boathouse Beefeater. An unlimited selection of the best of an English breakfast. That’s bacon, eggs cooked just how you like them, hash browns, black pudding, toast and plenty more with free tea and coffee.

We’re totally family friendly. Ours kids’ menu is full of dishes your children will love, our team are great with kids, and we’re next to some of the best places to visit in the city. Best of all, up to two kids can eat breakfast for free!
